Barn Raising: Day Four
Tuesday, June 21st. The crew was down to just Marion and myself, aided immeasurably by two machines, John and Henry (above).
With a crew of two, the pace slowed as we assembled the bent for the second shed section.
Marion checks the alignment as we get ready to raise.
Another 1200 pounds of hemlock frame is lifted from the deck.
Slings hold the bent until Marion and I insert the ties and braces to connect it with the main frame. By day’s end, the full dimensions of our new barn were standing tall.
